In an essay that is no longer than three double spaced pages, draw on the information from class lectures and readings to answer the following question:How did ordinary citizens manage to change their society? Specifically, how did they fight for equality and justice in the period between 1917 and 1969? What strategies were the most effective and why? Your answer must examine how three groups fought for justice. Your essay should include a clear thesis statement as well as specific historical evidence from both the readings and the lectures. Be sure to draw from at least two primary sources in your essay. Additionally, make sure that you cite all of your sources using parenthetical citations. E.g. (Jourdon Anderson). Please be sure to only draw on information from this class. Outside sources are not allowed.
